Researchers' Workshop to improve communication skill held on Oct, 1st 2013.

Researchers' workshop to improve communication skill was held at WPI-IFReC, Osaka University at 13:30 on Tuesday, October 1, 2013.

DSC02083.jpgThis workshop was designed in order to promote interdisciplinary researches by learning and developing their skills to effectively explain their researches to especially those who in different fields. It was held as a part of young researcher Development Programs.


In this workshop, Dr. Yuko Morita, a Science Communicator from Department of Planning and Science Communication Promotion in the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan), gave a short lecture to introduce the essence of the presentation and gave participants an opportunity to do presentation practice by small groups. The participants from different positions including professors, researchers, students, technicians and administrative staff worked hard in the group work, lively exchanging their opinions in their groups.


After workshop, the participants provided feedback as follows:
・It was good to have an opportunity to do presentation practice.
・This workshop made me realize what I had not developed enough.
・I think I have improved my communication skill.



The second round of this workshop (in English) will be held at Young Researchers' Workshop in the international symposium "Towards Comprehensive Understanding of Immune Dynamism (TCUID 2013)" on Monday, November 18, 2013.
